Dinner At Marriot Hotel, Doha

Last thursday went to dinner with my basketball mates in a restaurant located inside a 5-star hotel (Marriot Hotel in Doha). Before I went to the restaurant, i already expected that the bill for the dinner will be very expensive. Anyway, i will let you know how much we spent on that dinner at the end of this blog later.

This is the name of the restaurant (Asia Live)

Let us check the menu first. Wow..... QR 29 for just a bowl of misu soup. (Conversion QR1 is approximately to RM1). Tomyam soup also QR29.

Now this is really surprised me. Yong Chow Fried Rice is cost QR69!!! Nasi goreng and Singapore noodles also cost QR59 each. Unbeliveable!!!! I managed get the same dishes in malaysia for around RM6-10 a plate. Well. I can't deny that the quality of food is not below par but it isn't amazed me though. You can see the steamed rice can cost QR19. Although we didn't order that but i just wonder is it the rice cooked especially for VVIP? =='''

This is another part of the menu. Feel free take a look by yourself. Maybe i am poor, that's why i find it everything is expensive to me.


The picture below is not so clear and is taken by my colleague. I asked him to take this picture because wanna show to everyone how expensive the softdrink is. It is QR 18!!! and the Redbull is cost QR29!!!! Hahaha.....Really unexpected!!!!


Anyway, that day, there are total 7 of us. Before i reached the place, they already ordered and i just went there to eat....Lol. When the dishes are served, i just realized they ordered 2 set for each dishes. If i not mistaken, let me list down what we ordered on that night.


1) Seafood springroll - 2 set (appetizer)
2) 2 different set of sushi - 2 set (which mean total 4 set)
3) Yong Chow fried rice - 2 set
4) Singapore noodle - 2 set
5) Sweet n sour prawns - 2 set
6) Sesame prawns - 2 set
7) fish - 2 set (can't recall the name)
8) Greentea ice-cream - 4 set (this is the best ice-cream i ever had so far) ^^
9) Countless beers (they are really good drinkers)

From the picture shown below, u can see a fork lying on the singapore noodle. That already cost you QR59. You can imagine the plate size and the cost of it. Sigh. This is my first time to take a very fine dinner like this. *Sorry for not taken the pictures before we started our dinner as i don't have camera but my hp only. My hp is out of battery by that time. So i requested my colleague to take the picture for me*


Ding Ding Ding! THis is the green tea ice cream that i mentioned just now. I haven't have chance to take the picture before everyone start eating. Hahahaha....The picture shown it might not be look that delicious but indeed it really taste good. Really smooth enough and you seem not like eating "ice" but a smooth tasty creamy green tea. Hahaha....i am not good in english. hard to elaborate. In short, is delicious!!!

Ok. Now is time to announce how much we spent on this dinner.....Ding ding ding ding.......It is QR2444!!!!!

Complex feeling

Today is 12th May. Another one month from today will be my "2x"th birthday. Sigh. This will be the 2nd time I need to celebrate my birthday alone outside Malaysia. Every year i never expect any celebration for my birthday. A bit sad. I am always hoping a lot of friends remember my birthday and celebrate with me but in vain.

Anyway, that is just part of my complex feeling today. Sigh. Still have 1 and half month to stay in Qatar for the project. Hopefully i can finish it on time and go back to KL as per schedule. I don't want to extend again and again for this project. Getting bored now. Sigh. I am just wondering when i can return to KL. The submission date for those deliverables are postponed again. Shit. No one can assure my demobilization date, neither my boss nor my manager here.

Now i don't know how to spend the time here. Counting down the day to back now but it seem very slow. Seem long way to go. Still have 7 weeks= 49 days = 1176 hours before pack up my stuffs to go home. Somemore i know many of my friends and family waiting me. I really miss them. Hopefully my next project won't ask me to go outstation for long period again as I really will get home sick.

My Watch from Doha Shopping

Yesterday I went to shopping again with my buddies (Obi and Karube-san). Initially 3 of us planned to buy our new basketball shoes as our current shoes are harshly damaged due to the rough surface of the basketball court.

In fact, i am still considering whether to buy a new one or not. Basketball shoe is not cheap, at least RM200 and above. I still have 2 months staying in Qatar for the project which mean i have that period to play basketball with them only. After i back to Malaysia, i don't think i will continue playing this sport as i have no "kaki" to join me. All my ex-mates are become "uncles" already and i don't think they want to play this kind of "extreme" sport. Lol.

Anyway, my dude (Obi) managed to get his new shoe (AND1) but Karube-san not able to get his new shoe. Actually i have tempted to get a new pair for myself but both of us failed to get one due to the limited choices there. Sigh.

Although i didn't manage to get new shoe, but i ended up buy a new watch for myself! :P Actually i have this desire to get myself a G-Shock since i was young. But i was poor and not able to get this kind of luxury stuff.

And finally i can have an ivory G-Shock. Yeah Yeah!!!! There is some normal standard functions in this watch such as alarm, stopwatch, countdown timer and world time. The interesting function within the watch is auto-on the backlight. Normally the backlight will emit when u press the button from the watch manually. But this watch can let you to set it to auto mode for the backlight. When it is in auto mode, you just need to twist your wrist to take a look on the watch. The backlight will automatically emitted. It sounds interesting and fun to me. :)

Instrument TeamBuilding 26Apr2009 Part II

Just got the teambuilding photos from my colleague today. Just to show the happiness and the function that i attended in Qatar. You will find it rare to see me attend this kind of functions. Maybe once in a blue moon. Lol.

My funny japanese friends really good in funny posture when the photograhper taking our pics....while i am still chewing the food.

After dinner, we got some games for this teambuilding. I am so lucky to be grouped in blue team. And this is the first game of the night.

The game is like this. Everyone of the team have to pass an egg thru the t-shirt and take turns. The fastest to finish the passing will be the winner. Well...my team started not very well but at last we still able to finish as 2nd place in this game. YOu can see how dumb i am to get the egg from my team leader's shirt. =='''

The next game will be powder blowing. Everyone take turns to blow the powder out from the cup and take out the clue inside. Then who is the first to complete the full sentence from the clue given will be the winner. Hehehe......

Finally we won this game!!!! YEah yeah.....This time need to thanks to me for completing the sentence. =P (show off indeed)

My team leader seem trying so hard to blow powder. It reflected on his face. Now he looked like too much whitening lotion on his face..... hehehehehe...... Not bad...at least everyone is enjoying the game.

It shown that bosses able to mix up with their peers. But i think hard to find this happened in other companies. Not many bosses can really do that.

Everyone are laughing happily because we knew we can be the champion tonight as our first two games gained us lot of points. :D


Ok. The next game is really challenging to me. It is something like Q&A quizzes. Every team send a representative for each question. It is all technical questions that daunted us.

From the picture, you can see everyone of us trying so hard to think for the answer. But during my turn, i am the loser. =(

Anyway, after few games, our team(Blue) and red team got same points. So both teams have to play one more game to decide who is the winner of the night. I can say this is the peak of the night. You will know what i mean when you see the pictures below. Lol.

The final game which decide the winner is to make the longest line. The line only can be made via all the stuffs from your body, the clothes that u wore. Well, i didnt really know everyone is so dare to take off everything (except undies of coz) to win the game.

This is the red team(opponent) members trying hard to take off clothes and pants. You can see my manager who left only his undies from the picture.

Wow.....everyone struggling to take off everything to make the line longer n longer....erm....where am i??? hahaha....am i hidding somewhere? :P


Yeah! Yeah!! Finally we won the game! Game over!!! We are the champion of the night!!! Hurray!! Everyone of us so happy and take the chance to show off our body...Hahahahhaha!!! Luckily my body figure still look good to show it here. :P


Our booty for the game are a starbuck cup and one reload card only.... hahahahaha..... Well...better than nothing. We all happily get the our rewards.

And finally, i can consider the luckiest winner for the night as i am the only lucky draw winner among my team. :P

I got a HiFi micro system from the lucky draw. Hence, no regret to attend this teambuilding. Although it is not so expensive and branded gadget (China Made) but it is consider as one of my options for me to do when i am free. That's all for the night. :) I think this is the last function we had before the project accomplished. Thanks for everyone to support this function!!
